Comprehensive Eye Exam in Alexandria

An annual comprehensive eye exam evaluates eyesight and the visual system. Nova Eye Care Center's eye doctors perform a thorough eye exam to provide you with a glasses prescription if necessary, and a general eye health evaluation. You will be screened for any eye disorders such as dry eyes, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetes. Vision screenings that are performed by a school nurse, your employer, or online eye tests are not the same as a comprehensive eye exam by an eye doctor. A thorough eye exam by an optometrist is recommended every year, even if you have no vision problems, to screen for eye diseases, and general health problems before you are aware a problem exists. We recommend that children have their first comprehensive exam before they start school, at around age 4 or 5.
